Pulwama shuts amid clashes after news about killing of 3 militants spread in the town

PULWAMA: Amid clashes, South Kashmir’s Pulwama town observed shutdown after the news about the killing of three local militants spread in the area.

  An encounter is underway in Hafat Nallah Charar-e-Sharif of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Police say that exchange of fire between militants and government forces is in progress.

   Reports said that a news spread in Pulwama that three militants from the district have got killed in the encounter. With the spread of the news, shopkeepers closed down their shops while transport disappeared from the roads.

  A large number of youth hit to roads and pelted stones on the deployed forces who retaliated with massive tear-smoke shelling.

  The clashes were going on till the filing of this report.

  As per a local from the district three militants have been killed in the encounter who have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed Kar of Sirnoo village, Shahid Baba of Drabgam and Hilal Ahmed Bhat of Begumbagh Kakapora. However, Police didn’t confirm the killing of militants in Hafat Nallah encounter. (KNT)
