Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) staged a protest outside Indian High Commission in London today,” said a spokesperson of the party.
He added that the protest was held against the brutalities of Indian forces in Jammu Kashmir and particularly against unlawful killings in south Kashmir district of Shopian, where more than two dozen innocent people were killed and over two hundred people seriously injured.
“Hundreds of protesters including women and children chanted slogans for complete freedom of Jammu Kashmir and withdrawal of Indian Forces from the state,” the spokesperson said.
He said protestors demanded from the international community to intervene and save lives of innocent people of Jammu Kashmir, and help secure justice for victims of Shopian massacre.
Protesters also demanded from United Nations to send fact finding mission to Jammu Kashmir to highlight the atrocities of India.
“At the end of the protest, a delegation led by JKLF UK president Sabir Gul and prominent leaders tried to hand a memorandum to Indian High Commissioner, who refused to accept it. This unethical diplomatic practice has been repeated by Indian High Commission in the UK for a few years.”
While talking to media, JKLF President Sabir Gul strongly condemned Indian Forces' brutalities in Jammu Kashmir and unlawful arrests of pro freedom leadership. He also warned India that use of power and inhuman laws cannot suppress the voice of independence and this peaceful and non-violent struggle will continue until our ultimate destiny of independent Jammu Kashmir.
